The Old Auction House has two gallery spaces, The Main Gallery and The Studio Gallery, which exhibit a range of artists and mediums throughout the schedule of shows each year. The Main Gallery is open to all artists to apply for a show, while the Studio Gallery is reserved for use by emerging artists, community groups, and our studio artists.

MAIN GALLERY Current SHOW: Feathers and fur - erin robinson
January 3 - February 11, 2019
Erin Robinson is a Ballarat artist who has a love for art and a love for animals. In the exhibition ‘Feathers and Fur’ Erin combines those two loves to create whimsical, beautiful watercolour artworks.

Through draped glass forms this Exhibition celebrates that we are all different.
Exhibit At The Old Auction House
Artists wishing to apply to exhibit in either the Main Gallery or Studio Gallery should get in contact via email for an information package and to be placed on our mailing list to be advised when dates are released each year.
All gallery spaces feature a flexible layout with a height adjustable professional hanging system and a variety of sizes and shapes of gallery plinths and easels to display free standing works. The two gallery spaces are setup to cater for different artists; the Main Gallery is available for any artists or group to apply to exhibit in, the Studio Gallery is reserved for emerging artists, community groups, and our resident studio artists. Please ensure you comply with all instructions in the gallery agreement when applying for an exhibition to ensure your preferred dates are available.

THEMED GROUP EXHIBITIONS FOR 2019
Each year The Old Auction House curates themed group exhibitions for those artists who wish to exhibit but may not have sufficient work to fill a whole gallery. The below exhibitions are now available for artists who are interested in joining a group exhibition.
“Uncoloured”
On Display: March/April
Show Description: A limited colour palette can often be the most striking and memorable – artworks in any medium and style are more than welcome, just limit your colours to black, white, and grey!

“Not your usual canvas”
On Display: May/June
Show Description: Not all artworks need to be on stretched canvas – some of the best are on unexpected materials. Any style and mediums welcome to apply – just ditch the canvas!

Show Description: Great things come in small packages and miniature artworks are no exception. All styles and mediums welcome – just keep them small!

“Bump in the Night”

Show Description: Creeping Crawling Critters and all manner of scaries that go bump in the night – Celebrate All Hallows Eve with frightful creatures in all mediums and styles.

Show Description: It’s our party and we will celebrate however we want to! Join our terrible twos celebration with party and celebration themed artworks in any style and medium.

“BIENNIAL MOSAIC EXHIBITION”

Show Description: Running every 2 years our Mosaic Exhibition allows hobbyists and established mosaic artists to display any style and medium of mosaic artworks, along with the chance to win mosaic supplies donated by Studio 1, Leadlight By Ettore, in the ‘People Choice Award’.

Any artist wishing to be considered for a specific exhibition or to be placed on our list for consideration in future exhibitions please email admin@theoldauctionhouse.com.au with details of your medium, style, pricing, and a brief biography of your artist practice as well examples of your work. If you are applying for a specific exhibition please include the title of the exhibition in your application.
THE FINE PRINT
There is no application fee or exhibition fee for these exhibitions and a 25% + GST commission will be taken on all sales.
All works included in group exhibitions must be available for sale.
Applications for exhibitions may close early once suitable artists are secured.
All curating, hanging, and manning is carried out by The Old Auction House with delivery and collection of art works the responsibility of the artist.
Applying to be included in a specific exhibition does not guarantee inclusion in this exhibition and The Old Auction House reserves the right to refuse an application if;
The works are not sufficiently developed in style,
Applicants do not have the body of work or capacity to create sufficient works in time,
Pricing is not reasonable to suit the space and works,
Works have been previously displayed in The Old Auction House Main Gallery or Studio Gallery
