The Old Auction House giftshop stocks a wide range of quality, Australian handmade makers and artists from the Macedon Ranges area as well as across Australia. We stock over 100 independent artists and designers in a diverse range of mediums, styles, and products, so you are sure to find gifts for the whole family.
As makers ourselves we believe in sourcing high-quality handmade items from other small makers and creatives. This allows small brands access to the retail market for brands that often cannot get a foothold. Our shop is ever-evolving with new items and artists for you to discover every visit!
Unlike makers spaces, we do not charge our brands for shelf space or require them to man the shop, so they can keep doing what they do best, create amazing art!
Among our specialities are quality Australian made Australiana items, which are ideal mementos for travellers wanting a reminder of their experiences in Australia, and also perfect for locals travelling or gifting overseas. With around 1/4 of our makers from the Macedon Ranges area, there is bound to be a local maker of interest for travellers.
Our handmade items also focus strongly on heirloom-quality children's gifts and toys, made to last and grow with enquiring minds. All toys are created with long-standing traditional methods to capture imaginations and enhance play. Of course, every lovable item complies with relevant safety standards.
The variety of styles and materials in our range of Homewares encompasses glass wares from the precinct's on-site Glass Art Studio, through to timber, ceramics, and even a few non-traditional materials that could only have been thought up by true artists.
Sourcing a wide range of traditional and non-traditional Jewellery items is a particular interest for our handmade store. With a combination of silversmiths, polymer clay artists, glass artists, and textile artists featuring in our in-store jewellery section, you’ll find all styles and occasions are abundantly catered for.
The Old Auction House works closely with all our makers which allows us to provide our buyers with custom items to match sizing requests, or colours, and styles. If you can't find your perfect item we can find a maker to create it for you!
