Learning to make a Sea Glass Silver Jewellery Necklace is the perfect afternoon escape in the the Macedon Ranges for a girls weekend away from Melbourne!
Join jeweller Sarah Munnings for this 2 hour workshop perfect for beginners who have never made any silver jewellery before to people who have done a few workshops or taught themselves a little bit but want to learn the tips and tricks of jewellery making.
Why not make a day of it and take the introduction to silver jewellery workshop in the morning and then build on your skills in the afternoon before enjoying the incredible restaurants the region has to offer.
In this silver workshop you will start off by choosing a piece of sea glass that you want to feature in your necklace, Sarah will then guide you to make a bezel setting for it. You will learn to design, cut, solder and burnish your silver pendant, as well as gets hints and advice about how to enhance the natural beauty of your piece of glass.
Once you have made your sea glass pendant Sarah will show you how to hang it on a necklace or teach you how to make a lariat style necklace which is completely adjustable.
All materials and tools are supplied in this workshop making it a very affordable way to get started in making silver jewellery, and everyone gets to take home their finished necklace at the end of the class.

Sarah Munnings is a self taught jeweller who adores designing unconventional and quirky pieces using her experimental style and table top techniques.
She teaches beginner techniques across Melbourne and is known for her laid back, relaxed classes and eccentric teaching style. Her experimental style, interactive design process and re-engineering mind bring your ideas to life.

Sarah is neurodiverse and trained in working with neurodiverse people, she is adept at adapting the workshop for physical limitations and most areas of the venue is wheelchair/4ww accessible. There are ear muffs available but if you are sensitive to loud noise please bring your earplugs or noise cancelling headphones. There is a large toilet but not a disability toilet onsite. Please email to ensure adequate accessibility measures are in place to make your day as fun and stress free as possible if you have specific access requirements.
Requests for additional non-participating adults, carers/support workers, to attend workshops will be allowed dependent on space. Please contact venue prior to booking to confirm there is not already additional people assisting with other students in your preferred date.
