Sarah Munnings is a self taught jeweller who adores designing unconventional and quirky pieces using her experimental style and table top techniques.
She teaches beginner techniques across Melbourne and is known for her laid back, relaxed classes and eccentric teaching style. Her experimental style, interactive design process and re-engineering mind bring your ideas to life.
Sarah has changed career more than once, she honestly believes that there is creativity inside all of us - having trained in History and Landscape Archaeology, becoming a bank manager at 21 and now a jewellery artist she didn't believe she was creative herself until she picked up tools and allowed her creativity to escape.

Sarah welcomes everyone to her workshop and classes, she has established her classes to be accessible and accepting of everyone.
As an Autistic woman with a chronic pain condition, Sarah understand the need for flexibility and adaptations in the way she teaches. Sarah meets you where you are on your own journey, and adapts her jewellery classes to suit you where necessary, if you may require reassurance or adaptions please email admin@theoldauctionhouse.com.au to discuss your needs. ”I took Sarah's silver jewellery making workshop and it was fantastic. Sarah is delightful, very knowledgeable and understanding. I love the use of repurpose / reuse materials approach. From the start it was hands on, no lengthy demonstrations, short burst of techniques used as the class moved along.
The small class size is a plus allowing everyone to get the help they need. I made earring and a beautiful ring, that a complete stranger complimented on that day.
The studio is lovely, rustic, well lit, featuring local artists. The town of Kyneton is well worth a visit. Very pretty, historic, lots of lovely eateries and shops to stroll in and out of.
I 100% recommend this class and location.”

“Sarah was a very accomplished teacher which put me at ease from the start. She told us a bit about her past experience, so we knew a bit of her background too.
There was the right amount of students ( 5) so that we could all get the right amount of help when we needed to. The supplies and tools were excellent and we each had our own, which we have not experienced in past classes at other venues.
Sarah was very generous with the supplies, and the encouragement to test even more techniques. I couldn't speak highly enough of the day.”
