Marilyn Andrews is a self-taught artist with a deep connection to the Macedon Ranges whose work spans a variety of mediums, including water colour, oil, acrylic, pastel, ink pen, pencil, charcoal, glass and porcelain.
Inspired by the colours and brushwork of the impressionists as well as the glazing techniques of the old masters, she has honed her distinctive style over the years as an abstract impressionist. Building on strong technical foundations her use of line, rhythm, movement and colour has continuously evolved, cultivating a range of diverse methods to blend realism with abstract elements to share her artistic vision. n addition to her own artistic practice, Marilyn has been a passionate educator for decades, teaching art to people of all ages and skill levels. She believes that everyone has an ability to be an artist and that the pursuit of becoming an artist is an ongoing learning adventure with all the parallels of life’s ups and down
